Slim men and BBW
by Jean Ridley
Looking through the profiles in FriendsBigAndBeautiful, it’s not usually the women who want to meet big men. In fact, slim men are actively seeking big and beautiful women. Why is this?
"I think men are fed up with the stereotypical bimbo who is self centred and vain,” said Mel who is a dress size 20. “They want a woman with curves and is fun to be with. When a man takes a woman out for dinner, he wants her to enjoy her food and not talk incessantly about dieting."
Large people are normally happier and the reason for this is unclear. We’re all aware of the saying “fat and happy.” Does this mean only fat people are happy with who they are? Are unnaturally slim people unhappy because they’re striving to reach an unrealistic goal? Are they depriving themselves of food to keep slim?
Scientists findings show that the higher the BMI (body mass index) the lower the risk of depression. People who commit suicide generally have a lower BMI than large people. "Our findings provide some support for the idea that fatter people are at a reduced risk of the problems that lead to suicide," said Professor David Gunnell, of Bristol University,
So where will you find BBWs? Not at slimming clubs apparently! Joanne Roper, of Hugs International, an anti-diet pressure group said: "Slimming makes you miserable. Dieting can bring people down and make them obsessed with their body image. You've got to be happy with what you've got and not worry about things too much. It takes work but if you can accept yourself as you then you'll be happy generally."
Mclintock45 from Montreal in Canada joined FriendsBigandBeautiful in May. He says, “I'm a divorced 6'1 auburn hair, blue eyes who by a curious turn of fate, has found himself, retired with a lot of time on his hands. I have always gone out with large women, always enjoyed looking at well dressed, sexy dressed, dressed and undressed BBW women.” So Mclintock obviously knows that he wants. In order to narrow his search, he has joined a niche dating website and we hope he finds his dream BBW.
Accept yourself for what you are, not what you can be. Be positive, be happy in your own skin and above all, live for today not “when I’ve lost a stone” or “when I can fit into a size 14.”
